How Are You Using Html Snapshots?

A couple of months ago, I created the html-snapshots library and grunt-html-snapshots grunt task. I did this to get code out of my project builds, get familiar with authoring Npm packages, and to share information on ajax crawling for SEO.

The information I have received so far makes it appear that most people are using the library outside of a website build workflow. According to NpmJS, more people are downloading the html-snapshots library by itself than with grunt-html-snapshots. Right now, I’m only using this library in website builds, so this was new information for me.

Since I currently have no practical application that requires running NodeJS on a server (yet), I’m very curious to see how people are using the html-snapshots library. Getting familiar with use cases outside of the grunt task will help me better support this library going forward – Especially since I’m only familiar with the website build workflow use case.

If you have a second, please leave me a comment to let me know how you are using the html-snapshots library. I’m really interested in what you are running with NodeJS and how you are using html-snapshots. Enlighten me so that I can keep html-snapshots going in the right directions for you.

Thanks in advance for any information you can offer that will shed some light on use cases other than build-time html snapshotting. Cheers!

  1. Hi Alex,

Thank you for building this wonderful plugin. I use your Grunt plugin to serve HTML snapshots of Ajax generated content for SEO.
